The dead body of a pre-degree student of the University of Ilorin has been found in the swimming pool of a hotel in the State.
The body, according to findings, was discovered last Friday.
The circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and the identity of the student have not been ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
However, in a phone chat on the matter on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the State police command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin, said, “investigation has been launched into the incident.”
He said, “so far, it is suspected that the boy must have drowned in the swimming pool at the Bekadims Hotel, located at Tanke Oke-Odo area, along the University of Ilorin main campus road.”
When contacted on Wednesday, the Director, Corporate Affairs Unit of the University of Ilorin, Kunle Akogun, said “I have no information about the incident.”
