Ekiti State Governor, John Kayode Fayemi, has finally debunked the raging rumour of his 2023 presidential ambition and pledged support for the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fayemi laid to rest the speculation on Wednesday, 12th January, 2022 during his visit to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his residence in Bourdillione, Ikoyi, Lagos State
Fayemi also went ahead to pledged his loyalty and support towards the actualization of the presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Tinubu.
During the visit, Fayemi assures Tinubu of mobilising adequate support for Tinubu across the entire Southwest and promised to ensure the rallying of a formidable front for the Southwest geo-political zone to enable the clinching of the party’s presidential ticket by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a source close to the APC National Leader, Fayemi denied the speculation that he has anointed the immediate past Secretary of his Government, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the party’s Governorship candidate for the forthcoming guber polls in the State
Fayemi further assured Tinubu of a level playing field for all aspirants, adding that the party is prepared to field the most popular candidate who emerges at the party Governorship primaries on 27th January, 2022.
According to the source, Fayemi maintained that he remained committed to the party and would work towards the victory of the party in the 18th June, 2022 Guberatorial Election as well as the 2023 presidential election.
