2023: I will fix Nigeria in 365 days as President – Governor Yahaya Bello

With insecurity, corruption and economic downturn gripping the country, Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has said that if elected as the president in 2023, he will need no more than 365 days to put the country in order if he is given a seat in the 2023 general presidential election.

The Kogi governor said he has all the qualities and competencies needed to unite Nigerians and solve the problems facing in the country.

He made the disclosure while speaking on the theme “Media in Times of Crises: Resolving Conflict and Achieving Consensus” at the two-day of the 17th Nigeria Guild of Editor’s Conference in Abuja on Friday, During an appearance on Arise TV programme on Monday, monitored by Globalgistng.

The Governor said, “It won’t take more than 365 days to fix issues of insecurity, corruption, mismanagement among others in the country.

Bello also stated that he is ready to take over from President Buhari considering his good track record in his state.

According to the governor, his followers are calling him to run for the highest office in the country due to his achievements in Kogi in the past six years.

Bello added that becoming the President will serve the interest of the people of Kogi state, Nigerians, Africa and even the black race.

The Kogi governor, however, rejected calls for zoning and a rotational presidency, adding that Nigeria needs a competent leader who can unite Nigerians and solve the problems facing the country.

“From what I have come to realize and know, it takes a decisive, courageous, safe-minded and balanced leader to be able to fix this country once and for all. And to get this done, require the collaboration, understanding and restaking agenda setting of the media to educate, sensitize and teach our people on the choice of the next leader.”

According to him, the right leader shall emerge where the Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas among others will feel the real impact of leadership.

“I believe that we have those leaders in abundance in this country. I believe it only take the eagle eye and sharp pen to bring those leaders.”

He also said:

“Almost six years down the line, Kogi is united more than ever before. Now come to 2023, what I have been able to achieve in Kogi state is desired at the national level which I’m sure you know we are living in a global village which whatever you do even in your bedroom is noticed out there.

“If Nigerians across the board; youth, women, leaders and followers seeing my leadership style, uniting the people, bringing in experts, adding value to governance, prudent and sincere way and manner of utilisation of our resources and getting the results, balancing the equation which is most desired in the country today, if this multitude is yearning and calling me to come and serve this great nation in the year 2023 after president Muhammadu Buhari, I will say, yes I’m ready.

“Serving Nigeria in that greater capacity will serve the interest of the people of Kogi state, Nigerians, Africa and even black race than I remaining the executive governor of Kogi state,” he said

“By the grace of God when I would have [been] sworn in as the president and commander-in-chief taking over from Buhari on May 29, 2023, Nigeria will have a heave of relief.”
