Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, some delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party in Emure/Ise Orun, have informed a former governor of the state, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to allow them directly interface with Otunba Bisi Kolawole directly and not by proxy.
The delegates numbering in their tens, informed the former governor that the era of a godfather speaking for his preferred godson and furthering his own personal agenda in the process is long gone in Nigeria.
They further lamented that Fayose is going about with the campaign of Otunba Kolawole as if it is his own third term bid, decrying that he has prevented Kolawole to speak for himself and tell them his plans for the state.
“We want Kolawole himself to talk to us because we want to let you know that the era of godfather speaking for his godson is over in this state. We won’t tolerate that anymore.
“If Kolawole is sure of himself and wants to test his popularity here, Fayose should allow him engage us personally,” they said.
Reacting to their demands, the bewildered Fayose accused the delegates of working for an aspirant, rained curses on them and vowed to take punitive actions against them.
The delegates notwithstanding stood their ground that the former Governor was acting in a embarrassing manner considering his former position in the state.
