According to The Sun, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) stated that the late party members were elected councillors on the platform of the party.
Teslim Folarin, a former senator condoled with the Oyo state councillors’ forum over the tragedy.
Folarin said: ”I was shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic loss of some elected councillors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
“My heart aches for the forum, the progressive family, the constituencies they represented and the families they left behind.”
According to Peoples Gazette, the former lawmaker stated the late politicians will be remembered for their contributions to uplift the downtrodden masses.
He prayed to Almighty God to rest their souls in peace and give strength to all of them to overcome the unfathomable losses.
The politician did not disclose what caused the deaths of the councillors.
Among the deceased members were:
1. Honourable Rukayat Adejumobi from Itesiwaju Local Government
2. Honourable Oluyemi Muhammad from Ibadan South Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
3. Honourable Oluwole Adesokan from Akinyele,
4. Honourable Asimiyu Ajayi from Ido
5. Honourable Moruf Agbedo from Egbeda
In another report, the APC has claimed no administration in the history of Nigeria has done more for Nigeria than the present government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
This was stated by the acting national chairman of the party, Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday, April 20 in Abuja.
Buni, who is also the Yobe state governor, made the comments at the maiden edition of the media interactive session of the APC Professional Forum.
Meanwhile, the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, may be dragged to court over his rumoured presidential ambition.
Daily Trust reports that this was declared by the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), a support group loyal to the former governor of Lagos state, saying that it would not hesitate to sue him if he fails to declare for the 2023 presidency.
The DOJ is a merger of 12 political and socio-cultural groups working towards the actualisation of Tinubu’s presidency come 2023.
