Kagara: Gov Matawalle mentions location of kidnapped students
The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, on Monday, has identified the current location of the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School, Kagara in Niger State.
Bandits in military uniform had last week abducted students at GSC Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
The criminals invaded the school which has about 1000 students, overpowered the security guard, before whisking away some students and staff.
41 persons most of whom are students and staff of the school were abducted.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, monitored by Globalgistng the Governor said, “The students of Kagara are located around Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State which I believe very soon they would be back home.”
According to him, cooperation from stakeholders is the key to unlock success in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and other forms of criminalities.
“As you are aware, the security issue needs more commitment from all stakeholders. We have two major problems of insecurity in the north with banditry and Boko Haram,” the Governor added.
He said all the leaders must come to terms with the challenges at hand and speak with one voice.
