IGP orders Oyo CP to arrest Igboho now, bring him to Abuja

The Inspector General of Police on Saturday, January 23, has ordered the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho

Buhari’s spokesman Garba Shehu made the remarks while speaking on a BBC Hausa program called “Ra’ii Riga”.

He said he had just spoken to the police IGP, Mohammed Adamu, and had ordered the Oyo commissioner to bring Igboho to Abuja.

For the past three days, Sunday Igboho has been widely circulated online after visiting Igangan and demanding a seven-day ultimatum for Fulani’s in Igangan to leave the town.

He called on all Yoruba people in Oyo and other states to take action against the Fulani kidnappers who are disturbing the peace of the Yoruba land.

Malam Garba Shehu explained that the actions of Sunday Igboho were a challenges to the government as they were opposing the government on the the cause of fighting for the rights and unity of the Yoruba land.

He has a mandate from the IGP to bring Sunday Igboho to Abuja and prosecute him there.

Earlier this week, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu gave Fulani pastoralists seven days to leave the state forest.

The issue calmed down and Presidency warned him to stop.
