Number of Nigerians killed by Boko Haram terrorists, bandit, Gunmen and others in 36 states, FCT in 2020 (Full list)

Apart from the coronavirus pandemic, Nigeria witnessed widespread security challenges ranging from Boko Haram terrorism to banditry, kidnapping, among others.

According to a report by TheCable Index, 3,326 Nigerians in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were killed in 2020.

Note that the figures in the report are for attacks by Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and unidentified gunmen.

Suspected robbers and those killed by security forces are excluded.

Below is a state by state breakdown of the number of Nigerians killed in the previous year:

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai, has said that Nigerian troops will turn the table on the insurgent forces like Boko Haram, ISWAP and bandits who are disturbing the country in 2021.

The army chief gave the assurance on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the TY Buratai Institute for War and Peace in Biu local government area of Borno state.

Speaking during a sit-out to mark the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, Buratai said all the terrorists will be shamed and utterly disgraced in the new year.
