In a statement released late Friday, September 25 2020 by the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, the Party’s Acting Spokesman declared the suspension of the Political Adviser to the President, Senator Babafemi Ojudu a nullity and of no effect.

In the statement signed by Yekini Nabena, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on behalf of the Secretariat, the APC highest body said, “ (APC) has been drawn to …earlier reported “indefinite suspension” of some other party members in the state.

Edo Poll: Adams Oshiomhole was the cause of the victory of Obaseki - APC Chairman

The actions are a nullity “The statement immediately cast doubt on the credibility of the State Chairman, who signed the suspension of leading members of the State Executive Committee.

The members of the APC SEC have since elected their own Chairman and suspended Governor Kayode Fayemi for alleged anti-Party activities, including supporting PDP’s Governor Obaseki in Edo state.

As the news of the Governor’s suspension was widely celebrated in the media and especially in Ekiti state, the Governor was said to be scrambling to see President Buhari who has refused to grant him audience but have instead referred him to see the Governor Buni-led Exco, that have since clarified the stance of the National Party.

The Ekiti State Factional Chairman, Mr. Omotosho had earlier in the day, asked the party leaders that declared his seat vacant to recant their statement before the end of day.

He is now caught with his pants down, with the slap on the wrist from the National HQ that has further rendered his position untenable.

In a related development, Former Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani Kayode stated in his Facebook page that Governor Fayemi was a loyal member of his party.

This statement seem to further buttress the claim of observers who have sensed the slow march of Governor Fayemi and his group to the PDP.
