Mali unrest: President, Prime Minister arrested by rebel soldiers
He added that the pair had been “arrested” at Keita’s residence in the capital Bamako.

Disturbing reports claim that Mali Prime Minister Boubou Cisse and President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita were arrested by some rebel soldiers on Tuesday, August 18.

The leader of the soldiers informed journalists on Tuesday that Cisse and Keita are with them in Bamako, Mali’s capital, Reuters reports.

Confirming the development, a military official who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the duo were in an armoured vehicle bound for Kati.
