Former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and businessman Buruji Kashamu dies today, Saturday, August 8, due to a complication of Covid19, at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos.
He was said to have been on a life support machine for weeks at the hospital after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications.
I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.
Kashamu has added to the growing list of high-profile Nigerians who have died at the first cardiology hospital.
Recall that the late chief Of staff of President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, was treated for coronavirus in the same hospital until he died in April.
In addition, former Oyo state Governor Abiola Ajimobi and a lawmaker representing the Lagos East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Adebayo osinowo, both died in hospital in June.
The hospital is the top choice among affluent Nigerians seeking cardiovascular treatment, and has been operating since 2008.
Recently, he has dealt with several coronavirus patients among Nigerian politicians and elites.
