The Chinese joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling, in which the American side owns 44% of the shares, already makes cars for export, but they go to other countries under the well-known brands Chevrolet and MG. baojun (inexpensive youth cars and crossovers) and Wuling (cheap compact cars and vans) Are still used only in the domestic market.
However, the management of the joint venture has already made a fundamental decision: Wuling will soon go to conquer the world market! And the Chengdu auto show shows a harbinger of the car that will become the brand’s main export weapon.
So far, the Wuling Hongguang x crossover exists only in the form of a concept car: it does not have a chassis and power unit, and the developers do not let anyone near the cabin yet. But there is an uncharacteristic design for the brand. The 4.6-meter-long SUV looks massive and menacing, with tow eyes on display and additional floodlights built into the roof.

Of course, the production crossover will be simpler, but the General idea will remain. According to preliminary information, it will be called Wuling Ursa, and its debut will take place in 2021. Although on the technical side, nothing unusual is expected: a load-bearing body, a subcompact turbo engine, and the main (and maybe no alternative) front-wheel drive.
