The House of Representatives on Thursday, July 23, promises to initiate legal action against the Minister for the Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, after the expiration of the 48-hour ultimatum that was given to him to publish the names of the beneficiaries of the NDDC contract.
Members of the House of representatives also decided to initiate criminal proceedings for perjury and civil proceedings against the Minister for the Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, over the allegation that members of the National Assembly are the main beneficiaries of more than 50 percent of the contracts awarded by the Niger Delta development Commission (NDDC).

Recall that the speaker of the House of representatives Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday put forward a two-day ultimatum to the Minister demanding to publish the names of the beneficiaries of the NDDC contract.
Two days have passed, and the Minister still hasn’t fulfilled the ultimatum.
Therefore, the chamber decided to apply to the court for damages.
