Ex-Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo allegedly beats a relative’s wife with a whip for “stealing” N160m in Ogun state.
Residents of Olaogun in the Ifo Ibogun area of Ogun state were shocked on Tuesday when former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo stormed the area with a truck of armed security personnel and allegedly physically assaulted the wife of his close relative and chief confidant Adebayo Omolaja.
Globalgistng gathered from a real source that Obasanjo personally whipped Mrs Adebayo several times with a horse whip (Koboko) for the alleged “theft” of N160m.
It was unclear how the issue arose and what actually prompted the former President, who is also a retired military General, to take such action.
However, a resident of the area, who asked not to be named for security reasons, told Globalgistng that Obasanjo was heard shouting “ ” Omolaja, ole! Abiodun, ole! iwo loji N160m (Omolaja thief! Abiodun is a thief! They said you stole N160m) ” during the incident.
The resident added: “Obasanjo came from his abode at Ota farm at exactly five in the morning, when the people were still asleep.
He was accompanied by heavily armed men from the security Service of the fiery form that indulged the residence of Adebayo.
He immediately called Mrs. Adebayo and ordered the mobile police officers who accompanied him to build a barricade.
Then he proceeded with a horse whip (Koboko) to personally whip the woman several times.

“Many residents of the community were shocked. Hundreds of commercial bicyclists, popularly known as Okada, parked at the scene, wondering if there had been an armed robbery or some other tragic event.”
Other residents of the community who witnessed the incident and asked for comment all declined, citing security concerns.
Attempts to get a reaction from Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo’s press Secretary, were unsuccessful because his phone line was not available at the time of this message.
