Olusegun Abraham and Ife Oyedele, the leading contenders for the governorship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo state, Stepped down for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu ahead of the party’s primary election on Monday.
Oyedele said he was not compelled to step down for Governor Akeredolu but that he did it voluntarily.
Ife Oyedele decision is coming less than 24 hours to the primary election of which about 8 other aspirants boycotted a reconciliation meeting called by the party. Few hours to APC governorship primary election in Ondo State, another aspirant, Dr. Olusegun Abraham has stepped down for the incumbent governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
The Governor announced this via his twitter account. Dr Olusegun Abraham is the second aspirant that will be stepping down for the Governor within the past 24hours. Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele had yesterday step down for the Governor and declare his support for him.

In his tweets, the Governor said “I just got off the phone with my brother Olusegun Abraham who informed me of his decision to support my second term ambition. Together, we will keep the sun shining in Ondo State.”
