Trump said he wants to meet with Putin before the US election

US President Donald Trump said he wants to hold a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin before the us presidential election, which will be held in November 2020. This is reported on July 15 by the British newspaper The Times without specifying the source of the message.
The most likely date for such a meeting is September 15, during the session of the UN General Assembly in new York.
The publication says that during a telephone conversation on July 13 with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, US Secretary of state Michael Pompeo confirmed Trump’s desire to hold such a meeting. During the conversation, the foreign Ministers discussed preparations for the meeting of the five leaders of the UN security Council.
There were no official reports on the preparation of a possible meeting between Putin and trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly from either the Russian or American sides.
The last time Putin and trump spoke in person was more than a year ago. This happened at the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan. The talks between the Russian and US leaders lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.

In June, the head of the us White house said that the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the meeting of the g-7 countries requires common sense. According to him, Russia’s participation will make it easier to solve many problems.
The US President decided to postpone the G-7 summit from the end of June to September, and also expressed a desire to invite Russia, India, South Korea and Australia to it. According to trump, the current composition of the G7 does not represent the whole world, making the format obsolete.
