Popular RCCG pastor who served for 30 years resigns
Pastor Tola Oduntola, one of the outstanding pastors of the RCCG in the United States, left the Church after 30 years of service

One of the most popular pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the United States, Pastor Tola Odutola, has left the Church.
The pastor, who is currently the senior pastor of the house of Jesus in Baltimore, said that despite decades of service, he has never been rewarded.
In a trending online video from Nation Scoop, the pastor did not go into details related to the resignation, but said he was very confident that God is the protector.
Let them judge me, it’s OK,
He said that while he has apologized for many who may have been disappointed by his decision, he is not going to back down from it.
Pastor Tola said it is expected that he would be demonised on social media for his decision, adding it is normal.
He, however, asked his members not to bring the reports to him. The pastor said that it is also okay if members want to counter such a report online, saying that he would not do so but rather focus on the job at hand.
The cleric also said he “would not throw stones”, adding that he helped built his former church. Pastor Tola said this is the last time he would be talking about his resignation as he wants to move on.
Meanwhile, It was earlier reported that Gideon Bakare, an assistant pastor in RCCG in Akure, Ondo state capital, was sacked over attempted adultery.
Olaitan Olubiyi, the church’s spokesperson, said Bakare was caught in a viral video with a married woman in her matrimonial home.
Olubiyi pointed out that the pastor was seen in a very compromising position with the said woman, and as such, he has been excommunicated from the church.

The spokesman made it clear that the RCCG has dissociated itself with Bakare’s act which is contrary to the church’s core values.
“The Redeemed Christian Church of God has excommunicated Mr Gideon Bakare and relieved him of all ministerial duties in the Mission.
“Bakare, who was an Assistant Pastor in the Church was recently accused of an attempted act of adultery with a woman in her matrimonial home in Akure, Ondo state,” the statement read.
