Former US presidential candidate from the Republican party Senator Utah Mitt Romney on July 11 accused US leader Donald Trump of corruption, after he commuted the sentence of his ex-adviser Roger stone.
The results of the investigation of special Prosecutor Mueller only strengthened the confrontation within the United States
“Unprecedented historical corruption: the American President commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury for falsely defending the President himself,” Romney wrote on Twitter.
Trump has yet to comment on this statement by Romney.
The US President decided to commute the sentence of stone, who was convicted as part of the investigation into “Russian interference” in the 2016 election, earlier on July 11. This order of the head of state will allow the former adviser to avoid serving a prison sentence.

According to Trump, stone was the target of an illegal witch hunt, which was backed by former US Vice President Joe Biden and former Head of State Barack Obama.
Stone was found guilty of making false statements to the US Congress about interacting with the WikiLeaks website and threatening a witness in 2016.
However, in March 2019, the US justice Department released a report on the Mueller investigation, which did not find collusion between Trump and Russia during the election campaign.
