The Ekiti state government said that the ongoing construction of a cargo airport in Ipogun in the Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area will be completed in 18 months.
Bunmi Awotiku, special adviser to Governor Kayode Fayemi on the airport project, said this when the Ekiti State house of Assembly Committee on works and transport visited the site on Friday.
The Nigeria news Agency reports that the project started in October 2019.
The Chairman of the House of representatives Committee, chief Olugboyega Aribisogan, said that the airport is an eternal legacy that will contribute to the rapid transformation and development of the state.
Aribisogan, accompanied by other members of the Committee, said they were at the scene to examine the level of work done on the project.
The Chairman assured that the Assembly would provide the necessary legislative support to the state Executive so that it could bring democratic dividends to the people of the state.
