Edo Poll: APC appoints Governor Ganduje as head of 49-member election team
The APC has established a 49-person Committee that will be responsible for organizing the party's election campaign for the Edo state gubernatorial elections
Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was appointed Chairman of the 49-person APC election Board for the Edo state Governor election.
TVC News reports that his Imo state colleague hope Uzodimma has been appointed as Vice-Chairman and Abbas Braimoh as Secretary of the national election team ahead of the September elections.
The ruling party, in a statement signed on Thursday, July 2, by Deputy national Secretary for public Affairs Yekini Nabena, said that Governor Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, approved the election Council.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Ondo state gubernatorial race, an official from the people’s Democratic party (PDP) confirmed that the party will test its candidates in Abuja on Thursday, July 2.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of representatives, was appointed by the party leadership to chair a Committee that includes Bunmi Jenio as Secretary, Zainab Kure, Fred Agbedi and Ndubuisi Aguama.
Kola Ologbondyan, the party’s national Secretary for public relations, said that the screening is planned to be held at the national Secretariat of the PDP.
Before, it is also reported that INEC has released a list of party candidates seeking a seat in the Edo government House.
The electoral authority, in a tweet on Tuesday, June 30, recognized both Osagie ize-Iyama and Governor Godwin Obaseki as flag bearers for their respective parties.
After naming the party’s flag bearers, INEC announced Philips Shaibu as the Edo gubernatorial candidate, and Audu Abudu Ganyu as the Ize-IYamu’s running mate.
The election Commission also announced that 14 political parties will fight for the soul of Edo state in September.

In an effort to reconcile all its aggrieved members before the upcoming Ondo and Edo gubernatorial elections, the APC has established reconciliation committees.
The committees should bring together leaders and members of the ruling party in both States in preparation for elections.
On Tuesday, June 30, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees inaugurated the meetings of the groups.
