US President Donald trump said on June 24 that he was happy to end criminal proceedings against his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was accused of giving false testimony to the FBI.

Earlier in the day, the US court of Appeals ordered a Federal judge to close the criminal case against Flynn.
“I am very happy for General Flynn Justify him. I want to congratulate him. He went through a lot, ” trump told reporters, without specifying whether he had contacted his former adviser personally.
Before that, the American leader in his Twitter called on those involved in bringing the case against Flynn to apologize to him.
“[Ex-head of the FBI] James Comey and his gang of dirty cops are going to apologize to General Flynn (and many others) for trying to ruin his life? How about [special Prosecutor] Robert Mueller and his evil democratic friends? And what about [former US President Barack] Obama and [former Vice President Joe] Biden? ” trump wrote.
On may 7, the justice Department said it was dropping the case against Flynn “after a thorough review of all the facts and circumstances of this case, including newly discovered and disclosed information.”

Michael Flynn resigned in early 2017 after his testimony about contact with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was considered by the FBI as evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 us presidential election. He also worked with special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, who ultimately did not find trump’s collusion with Russia.
In court, Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements about the content of his phone conversation with a Russian diplomat, explaining that the actions of his interrogated police officers were illegal.
Later, data from internal FBI correspondence appeared, which showed that the agents deliberately tried to lead the General to false statements.
