APC asked the Governor of Bauchi to resign on charges of fraud

Bala Muhammad is on the verge of either impeachment or voluntarily resigning his seat as Governor of Bauchi state due to recent fraud charges against him.

The independent Commission on corruption and other related crimes (ICPC) has seized multimillion-dollar property structure allocated to Muhammad, property that rightfully belongs to the state’s agriculture Ministry, the Nation reports.

After that, the head of the APC called on the Governor to resign or be impeached by the state house of Assembly.

The party said this ugly development was sufficient reason for Mohammed to follow this path of honor, which is to resign as is done in other more developed countries.

“The APC is appalled by scandalous reports of the seizure of property, plot 298, Wuye district, Abuja, linked to Governor Bala Mohammed by the ICPC.

“This terrible scandal would have been grounds for resignation or impeachment in a saner mind. We therefore urge Mr. Governor to take the path of honor.”

Meanwhile, it is reported that there was confusion in Bauchi state on Monday, January 27, as Governor Muhammad approved the voluntary resignation of his chief of staff, Alhaji Abubakar Qari.

A statement signed by Bauchi state government Secretary Sabiu Baba said the Governor also immediately approved the appointment of Ladan salihu as the new head of administration at Government House.

Legit.ng revealed that prior to his appointment, Salihu was the current information and communications Commissioner in the state.

The Governor thanked Kari for the selfless service rendered during his tenure as chief of staff and wished him the guidance of Allah in his future endeavors.
