APC Chairman Ado Ekiti Ward 8 abducted, threatens to impeach Deputy Governor over Ojudu’s planned removal

The Governor of Ekiti state, Governor Kayode Fayemi ordered the detention of Mr. Afolabi Olaife Clement, the Chairman of ward 8, of the All Progressives Congress in Ado Ekiti.


The kidnapping followed several days of surveillance and pressure on the ward leadership to sign a fake resolution to remove Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the President’s special adviser on political Affairs.

Senator Ojudu has recently been at the forefront of demands for accountability in party and state governance, To the chagrin of the Governor.


The said kidnapping occurred in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Chairman’s house, where security operatives working with thugs picked up the Chairman to go to the Deputy Governor’s house.


The Deputy Governor, who is also from Ado Ekiti, received a threat from the Governor to remove his relative from office if he continued to serve as Deputy Governor, or face impeachment.

The Chairman of ward 8 has so far stood firm, no matter what, in the absence of any legal grounds for suspension or disciplinary action, as prescribed by the Constitution of the APC.


Fayemi, who is currently behind the chaos at the national level of the party, working with the Edo state PDP Governor, Obaseki and his associates at the national level, was an agent of destabilizing the All Progressives Congress working with the opposition.
