Wike played a major role in the” murder ” of the Governor’s forum-APC

The ruling all progressives Congress (APC) said on Tuesday that rivers Governor Nyesome Wike lacked the democratic credentials to fail the Nigerian Governor’s forum (NGF) due to his inglorious role when the then people’s Democratic party (PDP) administration introduced the “16 more than 19”political formula.

The Deputy national Secretary for public Affairs of the APC, Ekini Nabena, hit Wike during a brief conversation with reporters in Abuja.

Wike, on Monday described the NGF as a toothless bulldog, saying that it had fallen into a coma under the APC due to the failure to save Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki for seeking re-election on the APC platform.

But Nabena said that Wike still lives in the past, when impunity was the order of the day, and asked him to Wake up to the reality of a new era of justice, honesty and true democracy under the rule of the APC.

He said: “the governors’ forum is doing well under a civilised Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi.

“Does Governor Nyesom wike think that Nigerians can in a hurry forget the major role that he played as a PDP Minister played when then rivers state Governor Rotimi Amaechi won 19 votes, but former Plateau state Governor Jonah Chang, who won 16 votes, was recognized as the Chairman of the Nigeria governors forum?

“Wike also needs to be reminded of the main role he played as the foot soldier who organized the ban on the then Governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Silva, from participating in the PDP’s primary election for Governor, scheduled for 2011.

“If the Nigerian Governor’s forum was “killed’, as Wike claims, then it is clear who the killer and gravedigger are.”
