BREAKING: Army fires ex-GOC for theft, disobedience

Former General officer commanding (GOC) Major General Hakim Otiki was dismissed from service by the General military Tribunal set up by the Military Council to try him for stealing money belonging to the Nigerian army.

The General military Tribunal headed by Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun found the former GOC guilty on all five counts of the charges against him.

The former GOC was charged with embezzling N100 million and N160 million respectively of money belonging to the Nigerian army on the first and second counts, as well as disobeying the standing order under section 66 of the Armed Forces Act (AFA),

However, his dismissal is subject to approval by the Military Council.
