The official premiere of the new Lexus is sedan is scheduled for June 16, but the Network has already appeared photos of this car from all angles. Unfortunately, there are no technical details yet. However, some preliminary information is already available, and, judging by it, we are not looking at a completely new car, but the result of a deep modernization of the current sedan model of 2013.
Not only the rear-wheel drive platform was preserved, but also the body frame. The proportions of the new sedan are the same as the previous one, although the shape of the doorways is still different. The images show the F Sport version with a developed body kit, and the base Lexus IS will look “calmer”.

In the cabin, too, the ears of the outgoing sedan stick out: the shape and layout of the front panel are the same, and the steering wheel and the characteristic climate control unit with touch-sensitive temperature control strips are completely the same. One of the most striking differences is the free-standing display of the media system (previously it was embedded in the front panel) with a touchpad on the Central tunnel (previously there was a joystick) and round side ventilation deflectors.
The Lexus IS is expected to retain the current set of powertrains. This is a two-liter turbocharger, an atmospheric V6 3.5 and a hybrid powerplant. Details about the new sedan will be available tomorrow.
