BREAKING: Former Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture, Boboye Olanipekun died

Ado Ekiti and Ekiti State has lost another icon again, in person of Chief Boboye Olanipekun, the Okingbua of Ado Ekiti, the president and Founder of FABOTAS College of science and technology, Ado Ekiti.

Chief Boboye Olanipekun was the Former Acting Managing Director of National Fertilizer Company(NAFCON) Onne Port harcourt.

He is Former Commisdioner of Agriculture during the first term of Former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Fayose.

He is life patron of Ado Ekiti progressive union, and a devoted Christian.

Chief Boboye was always willing to help his people. A philanthropist of higher repute who was generous to fault. A first class administrator in human management and materials resources.

He is also highly refined politician of our time. A cerebral politician, who can quote a text book, when on discuss.

He used his position effectively to help his tribe. The name they called him in NAFCON was “Arowo ma gbe” (the man that swims inside money without stealing). The cheque of about N2.8 billion they used to set up NAFCON was handed over to him. Many people advised him to put it in his personal account, he refused but rather put the check under his pillow to sleep every night.

When he was to be removed, the letter written for his removal, he corrected their grammar which he could have been used against the authorities. He had to redraft the letter for them to retype before he collected the letter.

“Baba died on (Thursday, 04/06/2020) about a few hours ago and we are all in sorrowful mood,” source said. 

His body has been moved to the morgue of Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
