Trump thanks himself for suppressing protests in Washington

President of the United States Donald trump praised law enforcement and himself for suppressing protests in Washington and Minneapolis on the night of June 2.

“There were no problems in Washington last night. Lots of arrests. Great job done by everyone. Superior to (the protesters) power. Domination. Minneapolis was also great (thank you, President trump!), ” the US leader wrote on Twitter.

Mass actions against police brutality broke out in dozens of American cities due to the death of 46-year-old African-American George Floyd as a result of harsh police custody in Minneapolis (Minnesota).

It is known that the police received a call from an employee of a local store with a complaint that a large black man paid allegedly with fake bills, is in a state of strong alcohol intoxication and is going to drive. Law enforcement officers found the alleged intruder-it turned out to be 46-year-old Floyd-knocked him to the ground, one of them put his knee on Floyd’s neck and did not pay attention to his screams that he could not breathe. After some time, the detainee lost consciousness, and later died in the hospital.

One of the officers has already been arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

Earlier, trump criticized state governors for a weak response to the pogroms and demanded that they respond to the riots by force. He also ordered additional forces to be sent to quell the protests and called the riots acts of domestic terrorism.
