US President Donald trump is feeling good after taking the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a prevention of coronavirus. This was announced on May 28 by white house press Secretary Kaylee Mcenany.
“He feels great after this course,” the Hill quoted her as saying.
Makinani stressed that the American leader is ready to take the drug again in the future, if there is such a need. However, she noted that the drug can only be used after consulting with a doctor.
Earlier, trump admitted that he took hydroxychloroquine for several weeks after “hearing a lot of good things about this drug” from his personal doctor.
In March, the United States allowed the use of the antimalarial drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19.
At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned about the unproven effectiveness of antimalarial drugs.
Hydroxychloroquine is an antimalarial drug that causes the death of erythrocyte forms of all types of Plasmodium. It has immunosuppressive and some anti-inflammatory activity.
