Mission impossible: how Muscovites can pass a free antibody test

From May 27, Muscovites in Russia can take a free test for antibodies to coronavirus in 30 clinics in the capital. Previously, this analysis could only be passed by those who participated in random sampling testing. It would seem that now all the problems are solved.

However, as it turned out, only the lucky ones can donate blood for antibodies.

This test has been expected for a long time. Its results will immediately show whether a person has had a coronavirus and whether they have developed immunity. The test can also provide an answer to the question whether a person is currently ill with Covid-19.

How do I get a free test for the presence of antibodies to the coronavirus? You can only sign up remotely. For this purpose, a preliminary electronic record has been created. If you are attached to any of the city’s clinics, you need to sign up for a blood test from a vein on the portal or via the Emias app. Well, let’s try it.

This procedure was not easy. It was necessary to start by clearly following the instructions of 5 points, without making a mistake in any of them. By the way, I do not think that all Russian pensioners will have the patience and ingenuity to easily overcome all the difficulties of the search and reach the cherished line “Blood – antibodies to Covid”. When I finally reached this entry after half an hour of torment, the system mocked me:”There is no available recording time.”

But stubbornness forced them to look for workarounds. I called the district clinic I was assigned to. A long speech from the answering machine gave as always zero information. Only from the 7th (!) time I was lucky. And-bingo! The operator informed me that the test for antibodies to the coronavirus can be passed in the nearest clinic to my house, which is a 10-minute walk away. But in order to pass the coveted test, you need to perform a number of feats. For example, the operator said that now the recording is made only for the middle of June. “Recording via the Emias app starts every day at 7 am. If you are lucky and you “snatch” a place, you can get an entry for the 2nd half of June, ” the operator said.

The prospect of squeezing into the record of thousands of Muscovites who got up at dawn to be tested for antibodies to the coronavirus, attracted little. In addition, the operator warned: “before you donate blood for antibodies, the doctor must give you a referral.”

In General, everything is as usual in the capital’s medicine: only overcoming obstacles can lead to the goal.

Here is how Dmitry Sysoev describes his attempts to donate blood for antibodies to Covid-19 on Facebook: “Nadys announced that “every Muscovite” can take an antibody test for coronovirus at their own request. This was widely trumpeted by Rakova. Since I have a “mass case” in my family, I go and run to register. So what ? And nothing! You can sign up “as a Muscovite”, i.e. attached, or as a “NON-Muscovite”, i.e. not attached. I try “AS not attached”. I live physically in Vnukovsky, we have a new, year-old built, with pomp handed over clinic 212. And? But it’s not on the list. Well. I am attached at the place of registration in the clinic 155 in my native Beskudnikovo. And the same sad result. Bottom. Okay. Sometimes. I’m calling the hotline. A cheerful answering machine after all the clicks on the voice menu “joyfully” tells me that the test is “prescribed by doctors according to indications”. That is, all the words, all the loud statements – another profanation. They are not interested in anything other than cutting and dividing the money in practice.”

To clarify why such difficulties are associated with registering for a free test for antibodies to Covid-19, NI contacted the Moscow Department of health. They kindly agreed to help find a list of clinics where you can pass this test. But a miracle happened. When you enter the “Covid-test” line, an entire page with contacts and a description of the paid Covid-19 test opens on the DZM website. With a detailed price list and description of the analysis fence. The cost is 3 thousand rubles, plus 2 thousand nurse services, plus one thousand-delivery of the analysis by courier. Total: 6 thousand for one test. I think this tab magically opened for a reason: it is a “lifeline” for those who need to pass this test. It is not difficult to guess that the majority of Muscovites will follow the paid route. First of all, because it is convenient, fast and does not require morning vigils in an attempt to “snatch” the cherished queue.

The list of 30 clinics where you can take the test, however, also opened. We give a link to it: Maybe someone will be lucky…
