The debut of the Mercedes-Benz GLK crossover, which replaced the GLK model, took place in 2015, and the planned restyling of the family was postponed only a little more than a year ago. However, the tests have already seen the future GLC, which, according to preliminary information, will get the internal index X254. Of course, the design details are not yet allowed to consider the camouflage film, but it is already clear that the crossover will have new proportions: the body will be slightly lower and longer, and the main increase will be on the hood.
The front optics of the prototype are probably already serial, although instead of the rear lights, they are still “temporary”. A solid rear overhang suggests that the new GLK will have a third row of seats, although it is possible that this effect is created by camouflage pads on the body. Most likely, the future crossover will share the platform with the new-generation Mercedes C-class, which will be declassified this year and will have a similar set of units: all four-and six-cylinder engines will get soft-hybrid add-ons, and the rechargable versions (now it is the GLC 300 e and GLC 300 de) will probably become more. However, the debut of the next-generation crossover is unlikely to take place before 2022.
