Tests of the coronavirus vaccine on volunteers may start as early as July, but the Russian Ministry of health has not yet given a decision on this. “The Russian Ministry of health has not yet given anyone permission to conduct research on the vaccine on volunteers. Earlier in May, Ginzburg said that the vaccine can be registered and start producing in August. In the future, he allowed for two scenarios. If the coronavirus shows variability, it will be necessary to create new vaccine strains every two or three seasons. If it does not change, the vaccine will be included in the national vaccination calendar.
Russian biotechnological company “Biocad”, which is developing a vaccine together with the state scientific center “Vector”, intends to produce 3 million doses of the vaccine every month by the end of the year, provided that the drug is ready in November-December of this year and clinical trials are successful.
First of all, people from the risk group will be vaccinated, that is, senior citizens, people with chronic diseases, doctors, social workers and law enforcement officers.
