President discussed progress of COVID-19 with Security Council

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed via video link with permanent members of the Russian security Council the progress of the fight against the spread of COVID-19 and his contacts with foreign leaders in recent days. This was stated by the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on Friday, May 8.

According to Peskov, they discussed “current issues of the socioeconomic situation in the country”, as well as the topic of fighting COVID-19.

The Russian leader also congratulated the participants of the meeting on the upcoming Victory Day.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Deputy head of the security Council Dmitry Medvedev, head of the Kremlin administration Anton Vaino, Secretary of the security Council Nikolai Patrushev, interior Ministers Vladimir Kolokoltsev, foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, defense Sergei Shoigu, heads of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and SVR Sergey Naryshkin, as well as the President’s special representative for environmental protection, ecology and transport Sergey Ivanov.
