One-time payments to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war were received last month by 1.2 million people. This was stated on, May 8, by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova.
“We are talking about paying participants of the great Patriotic war and persons awarded the badge” Resident of the besieged Leningrad”, persons who worked at air defense facilities, former minor prisoners of fascism, widows of participants and invalids of the great Patriotic war, ” Golikova said at a meeting on socioeconomic issues.
She recalled that the payment for these categories, which is established by presidential decree, amounted to 75 thousand rubles. Home front workers and former adult prisoners of fascism, in turn, received 50 thousand rubles. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that the intended payments reached every veteran.
In addition, Golikova noted that a program was adopted to improve the housing conditions of veterans. In particular, the authorities allocated more than 350 million rubles to provide housing for 221 veterans of the great Patriotic war. These are people who came to permanently reside in Russia from other countries.
Also, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the government will allocate 473 million rubles to repair housing for veterans of the second world war.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who is still receiving treatment for COVID-19 in a state medical facility, also took part in this meeting via video link.he said that, among other things, veterans in the context of the coronavirus pandemic should receive timely medical care.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the heroic path of the Soviet people during world war II. He noted that they overcame inhuman trials and defended their native land.
The day before, the head of state called on citizens to treat the heroes of the great Patriotic war with gratitude.
This year, commemorative events were postponed due to the situation with a coronavirus infection. At the same time, Putin is preparing to address the nation on May 9 and take part in a flower-laying ceremony.
