Russian Culture Minister infected with coronavirus


Russian culture Minister Olga Lyubimova was diagnosed with a coronavirus. This was announced on May 6, by the press Secretary of the head of the Department, Anna Usacheva.

The disease occurs in a mild form, added Usachev. The issue of hospitalization is not raised. She also said that all employees of the Department passed tests for coronavirus. Results are expected. During Lyubimova’s illness, her first Deputy Sergey Obryvalin will lead the Ministry of culture.

On April 30, Russian Prime Minister Mishustin informed President Vladimir Putin that his tests for the coronavirus had yielded positive results. The Prime Minister went to self-isolation and under the supervision of doctors, offering the Russian leader the candidacy of first Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov as acting Prime Minister of Russia.

All members of the government who had contact with the ill Prime Minister are isolated and undergo additional testing. The Cabinet of Ministers continues to work in normal mode.

The next day it became known that the head of the Ministry of construction of Russia Vladimir Yakushev was hospitalized with a coronavirus. Also, the coronavirus was confirmed in one of Yakushev’s deputies, Dmitry Volkov.
