Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who was diagnosed with a coronavirus, is on the mend. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, May 6, at a meeting on the implementation of previously adopted measures to support the economy and social sphere.
“Before starting today’s meeting, I would like to convey my best wishes and greetings from Mikhail Mishustin,” Putin said.
According to him, the Prime Minister is recovering normally, but “not without a temperature, as in such cases often happens.”
The President added that he is in touch with the head of government every day, who participates in every meeting and prepares all decisions.
“In General, we wish him a speedy recovery,” Putin concluded.
Mishustin informed Putin of his diagnosis on April 30. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers went to self-isolation and under the supervision of doctors. First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov was appointed as its acting Prime Minister.
All members of the government who had contact with the ill Prime Minister were isolated, and they underwent additional testing. The Cabinet of Ministers is working normally.
Later, Vladimir Yakushev, the head of the Ministry of construction, was hospitalized with a coronavirus. This diagnosis was also confirmed in one of Yakushev’s deputies, Dmitry Volkov.
The head of the Ministry of culture Olga Lyubimova was diagnosed with a coronavirus on May 6. The disease occurs in a mild form, she conducts workshops in the video conference mode. All employees of the Ministry passed tests for this infection.
