President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the treatment of pneumonia an important task. This was reported by the BelTA news Agency on May 3.
“We have observed (even by 40-50 people in four months) an increase in pneumonia to the level of last year. Yes, this is just a small amount in our health care system, but pneumonia has grown a little bit, ” Lukashenko said at a meeting dedicated to preparing events for the Victory Day.
According to him, the Republic has enough means of protection and medicines, and all issues related to the safety of doctors have been resolved. In addition, the country exports protective equipment.
“For pneumonia, which I very much control, only 10% of the availability of devices (artificial lung ventilation, ventilators) is occupied. — Ed.). We have just over 200 people on the ventilator today. And ventilators 2.5 thousand plus five thousand anesthetic and respiratory devices, if necessary,” he said.
