Thanks to the treatment of patients with coronavirus using plasma, the condition of many hospitalized patients has improved. This was announced on April 27 by Deputy mayor of Moscow Anastasia Rakova.
On the air of the TV channel “Russia 1”, she noted that this method of treatment is safe and does not cause side effects and complications. At the same time, the disease in patients proceeds much easier.
Rakova pointed out that plasma is not enough and will not be enough, so it is used only for very severe patients.
The Vice-mayor expressed hope that every day the number of recovered people who will be able to become donors will grow.
Doctors of the Federal medical and biological center named after Burnazyan of the FMBA of Russia started using the new method of treatment in the Russian Federation on April 17.
On April 19, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Nedospasov noted that blood transfusion of COVID-19 patients is an effective method: this is how diphtheria and encephalitis were previously treated.
