Taxi services will check whether a passenger has a digital pass when ordering a ride in Moscow. This was announced on Monday, April 13, by the head of the information technology Department of the Moscow government, Eduard Lysenko.
“There will be a check when ordering, so that not when boarding the car, but taxi services that will be allowed, which will operate for Muscovites, they will have their own private access. And when a person orders a taxi, they will double-check it, ” Lysenko said on Ekho Moskvy.
He explained that at the time of ordering, the taxi aggregator will ask the passenger for a pass code. The corresponding functionality will be introduced in the applications of such services as Yandex, Gett and Uber. The mayor’s office is negotiating with them.
On April 11, it became known that taxi drivers will be required to check passengers ‘ digital pass when traveling.
Earlier in the day, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree that from April 15, a digital pass will be required for rides on any type of transport, including taxis. You can apply for it from April 13 through the portal of the mayor of Moscow mos.ru, and by sending an SMS to 7377.
