Skvortsova tells about the chips for the detection of coronavirus in 15-20 minutes

Russia has developed chips for detecting coronavirus in 15-20 minutes, which will be presented on Friday, April 10. The head of the Federal medical and biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova said this on Tuesday, April 7.

Chips will be presented at the production of the Agency in Odintsovo. They are based on isothermal amplification, i.e. detection of the virus. Unlike conventional polymerase chain reaction, these chips do not require different temperatures in different phases of the study. Isotherm at a temperature of about 60 degrees allows you to detect the virus in an accelerated mode, Skvortsova said on the TV channel “Russia 24”.

Earlier on April 7, Skvortsova said that the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus vaccine developed by the FMBA should be expected by the end of the year.

Earlier in the day, the world health organization (who) included this SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus vaccine in the list of promising vaccines. To date, the drug has already been tested on animals and its ability to form a specific immune response to the new coronavirus has been proven.

The vaccine is based on recombinant proteins that were previously effectively used in world health practice. If an active drug is developed, it will be mass-produced. For this purpose, the corresponding capacities are being created at the FMBA enterprise in Krasnoye Selo.

On the same day, it was reported that the FMBA started comparative clinical trials of three more drugs for the treatment of patients with coronavirus: “Gidroksihlorohina”, “Mefloquine” and “Kaliavina”.

Currently, 7497 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Russia, 58 people have died from the infection, and 494 have been cured. Cases were recorded in 80 regions.
