Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the country will be able to overcome the coronavirus epidemic with minimal losses. However, this will only happen if all actions to combat the disease are coordinated, organized and disciplined.
The Russian leader made this statement on Tuesday, April 7, during an online meeting with experts on fighting the spread of the coronavirus.
“If we act correctly, organized and disciplined, we will pass this difficult stage in the life of the country with minimal losses,” the President said.
The head of state also thanked virologists for their recommendations that will help the authorities make decisions “in this difficult, but not hopeless, situation”.
Vladimir Kutyrev, Director Of the Russian research anti-plague Institute “Microbe” of Rospotrebnadzor, earlier during this meeting called the timing of the appearance of results from self-isolation in the country. According to him, this will happen in about a week, at the same time it will be possible to understand whether it is possible to reduce the period of non-working days.
The topic of reducing the number of non-working days was raised earlier this day by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He promised to consult virologists on this issue and ask them to give forecasts for the near future.
In order to prevent a large-scale spread of infection in the country on March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the week from March 30 to April 5 will be a non-working week for Russians with the preservation of wages.
On April 2, the Russian leader extended the period of non-working days until the end of the month. At the same time, the President allowed a reduction in the period of forced self-isolation if the epidemiological situation improves.
