Rospotrebnadzor will conduct a population study on the number of Russians who have already developed immunity to the coronavirus. This was announced by the head of the Department Anna Popova on Sunday, April 5.
Earlier, the state scientific center of Virology and biotechnology “Vector” developed a test system that can detect antibodies to coronavirus infection. It is her Rospotrebnadzor and intends to test next week.
“A population study has already been planned and developed. We need to understand what is being done in the population, where there was a very wide spread, in Moscow and the Moscow region, and where there was no virus at all, how the population is protected and how it is not protected, “Interfax quoted her as saying.
It is expected that it will be possible to collect and study data on the immunity of Russians to SARS-CoV-2 in about 10 days after the start of the study.

Earlier in the day, Popova reported that in Russia, COVID-19 is transmitted from one patient to three people at once. This chain can only be broken by “separating” people, that is, using a self-isolation regime.
Thanks to the measures introduced by the authorities and their support from the population, Russia manages not to “break into an explosive growth” in the number of patients, the head of the Department stressed.
Vector is expected to start testing the COVID-19 vaccine in humans as early as June. 60 volunteers will take part in the experiment, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
As of April 5, 5389 cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in Russia, 658 of them in the last 24 hours. 355 people were cured. 45 patients died.
