Chelsea player consider it racist to test the COVID-19 vaccine in Africa

The player of the German national team and FC “Chelsea” Antonio rüdiger criticized the idea of two French doctors to test a vaccine against coronavirus on the inhabitants of the African continent. The player wrote about this on his Twitter page.

“Two French doctors offer on TV to conduct an experiment on a vaccine against COVID-19 in Africa,as if the Africans are some kind of animals!?!? A disgrace! Is racism at the highest level”, the athlete told his followers, attaching a video recording of the broadcast, which discussed the issue.

Ruediger also noted that the statement of the doctors is terrible and is directed against all people with black skin color. To his angry posts, he attached the hashtag #AfricansAreNotLabRats (“Africans are not lab rats”).

The idea of testing was put forward by Professor Jean-Paul Mira and research Director of the French national Institute of health Camille Locht on the French TV channel LCI. Previously, players Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’O and Demba BA also expressed their outrage over the idea of testing the vaccine in Africa, reports.

On March 11, the Moscow Bureau for human rights published a report with an initiative to create a black list in Russia for the rehabilitation of Nazism, racism, xenophobia, propaganda of nationalism and for Holocaust denial.
