System to monitor patients with coronavirus starts working in Moscow

The “Social monitoring” system for monitoring new-type infected coronavirus patients undergoing treatment at home has started working in Moscow, the information technology Department of the capital reported on Friday, April 3.

“In Moscow, in accordance with the decree of the mayor, for the first time began to use technologies for social monitoring of the location of patients with confirmed coronavirus who chose treatment at home,” said in a statement.

The system uses various techniques to determine the geolocation.

As noted in the Department, on Friday, the first patients with coronavirus were handed smartphones with a preinstalled application “Social monitoring”.

“Such technical means will allow the city to monitor compliance with the quarantine and quickly identify cases of violations, which will help avoid further spread of infection,” the Department stressed.

The news is being updated.
