Russia creat an aviation group to help Serbia fight coronavirus

On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, an aviation group was created to help Serbia fight the coronavirus. This was reported on April 3 in the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation.

“Currently, eight medical and nursing teams equipped with modern medical equipment and equipment, as well as a team of radiation, chemical and biological protection specialists, designed to carry out disinfection measures with complexes of pathogenic materials analysis, aerosol disinfection of transport, buildings and structures and the necessary stock of disinfectants, are concentrated and are ready to be transferred to Serbia by Il-76 aircraft of the Russian air force,” the Ministry said.

Personnel and equipment are planned to be transferred by 11 aircraft of the Russian air force. In total, 87 military personnel, including doctors and virologists, as well as 16 units of military equipment will be sent to Serbia.

The fact that Russia will provide assistance to Serbia in the fight against coronavirus became known yesterday.

On March 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald trump discussed the possibility of Russian assistance to the United States. After that, Russia sent planes with humanitarian aid to the United States. On the sides were personal protective equipment and medical equipment.

On March 22, Moscow agreed with Rome to provide humanitarian assistance to prevent complications of the epidemiological situation due to coronavirus in Italy.

From 23 to 25 March, 15 planes of the Russian Military space forces arrived in Italy, bringing special disinfection products, medical devices and doctors.

The virus, dubbed SARS-CoV-2, began spreading around the world from China’s Wuhan at the end of December last year. According to Worldometer, by 11: 28 (Moscow time) on April 3, more than 1 million cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the world, 53.2 thousand deaths.
