The number of patients with coronavirus in Russia hit 3,500

In Russia, the number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection has exceeded 3,500. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the data of the Federal operational headquarters for the fight against the spread of the virus.

Cases of the disease were detected in 76 regions of the Russian Federation “In the Russian Federation to date, 3,548 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in 76 regions,” the headquarters said in a statement. Within a day, the number of infected people in the country increased by 771 in 29 regions. Moscow is the leader (595 new cases).

43 cases were identified in the Moscow region, 22-in St. Petersburg. There are 13 new cases in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 11 in the Leningrad region – 11, and 10 in Dagestan. Seven new cases each in the Kaliningrad region and Perm region, five each in the Stavropol and Krasnoyarsk regions, Orenburg and Sverdlovsk regions and Buryatia, and four each in the Lipetsk, Murmansk, Rostov, and Irkutsk regions. Three new cases were reported in the Vologda region, two cases each in North Ossetia, Bashkiria, Mari El, Komi, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district, Samara, Kaluga and Omsk regions. On one occasion – in the Altai territory, Adygea and Belgorod region.

The number of fatalities increased by 30 per day. Three patients died in Moscow, and one person each died in the Moscow region, Perm region, and Chechnya. In total, 30 fatal cases were recorded during the entire period. 215,000 people are under medical supervision.

As for those who recovered, 45 people were discharged from hospitals during the day: 25 patients – in Moscow, seven – in the Sverdlovsk region – seven, three – in Yakutia. Two people recovered in the Chelyabinsk region, one in the Komi Republic, the Crimea, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Perm and Primorye territories, and the Ivanovo and Kaluga regions.

The total number of people who recovered is 235. Earlier, Vladimir Nikiforov, chief infectious disease specialist of the Federal medical and biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia, expressed the opinion that the outbreak of infection should end by the summer. And the peak of the disease, in his opinion, will be in the middle of next week.
