The state Duma approved the law on credit holidays for citizens and small businesses due to coronavirus. You can use the right until September 30, but only if the income for the previous month is 30% or more lower than the average monthly income of the previous year.

During the “vacation” period, it is not allowed to charge a penalty (fine, penalty fee), submit a claim for early performance of obligations, foreclose on the subject of collateral or mortgage, or make a claim to the guarantor.

However, during this period, the borrower has the right to repay the loan ahead of schedule at any time. The draft law on granting credit “holidays” to citizens affected by coronavirus was prepared on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and submitted to the state Duma on March 31.

According to the head of the Duma’s profile Committee, Anatoly Aksakov, it provides for deferrals on loans for individuals, citizens, sole proprietors and small businesses from the industries that have been most affected by the pandemic.
